I was sent a sample of merino pencil roving last week, so I decided to chuck it in the dyepot!
There was only a couple of metres so it was really just for playing with....
In the UK we have chewy sweets, real tooth-rotters - hated by dentists I expect - and called Starbursts. They were previously called Opal Fruits, but some conglomerate decided to homogenise the product for a world stage, a bit like Snickers bars which used to be known as "Marathon".
Anyway.
They are this colour...
I guess I'll be ordering more. This is my old beginner's Ashford top whorl, not the magnificent Turkish.

'Made to make your mouth water', vey nice roving, pretty colours, but when it comes to opal fruits I like the strawberry flavour best!
Hey! Starbursts! We have those stateside too, Natalie, and I'll even admit that I like the silly things. But you're right--the colors in that roving are *exactly* the same as the candy! How are you going to ply it?
Dyeing is something I'm only just getting into, love those colors!
Very pretty! Don't you love predrafted roving? So pretty and soft and lofty...it's almost enough to make me want to get into felting!
My son love those Starburst candies...and those colors are right on target! The pencil roving looks like it is fun to spin!
