Another Newbie to The Weekend Whirls

Hello Everyone! Thank you for letting me join the group. I'm especially keen on the spinning groups. I did do some weekend whirling. I find Sunday mornings a great time to get my wheel out. It's nice and quiet and I can spin right into the afternoon.

Right now my main project is spinning a bulky yarn to knit my DH a sweater. This is from a Corriedale ram called Mercury that resides at Whitefish Bay Farm in Door County, Wisconsin.

Normally I can do two bobbins in a sitting, but I only go the one bobbin done this weekend. I'll try not to bore you all too much with this one - I'm about 1/2 way through this fleece.

Happy Spinning!

I'm so out of practice that my back was quite sore after just the plying session Sunday morning. I'm sure my chair is not the right height and that probably doesn't help either. Sounds like you're making good progress with the bulky.

Sounds like a great way to spend the morning!

How many ounces/pounds will you spin for the sweater? Are you planning to dye it?

Great spinning:) I am having difficulty spinning bulky at the moment after doing a lot of fine weight .
